WINGED

 by James Roberts

Written over the first 12 weeks of lockdown in Wales when birds were given back their spaces for a time, when curlews circled the uplands, swans nested on pools and goshawks appeared for the first time in the wood I’ve been walking in for 2 decades.

This sequence of poems interweaves ideas about wildness, fragility, hiddenness and withdrawal.

12 poems and 12 ink drawings.
36 pages printed on FSC papers.

ONE TREE

 by Jane Lovell

This pamphlet is the first Night River Wood collaboration.

Jane Lovell is a multi-award-winning poet whose work I have admired for years.

“There are no boundaries to solitude, to isolation, but the trees and the wind can bring back memories, can rekindle the meaning of days. This poem takes the darkest path and winds its way to a place where the past meets the future and hope is rekindled in the smallest of ways.”

Single poem signed and numbered by the poet, with cover art by James Roberts

LAST

by James Roberts

I’ve long been passionate about wolves and have become very aware of the precarious nature of their existence and the enormous tribulations of the species historically. This eco-poem follows the last days of the last wolf, an event that could yet occur in my lifetime.
