An ink and salt original painting on high quality Italian paper. Skylarks are one of the iconic birds of the British Isles. The males rise high above the ground in a display flight, hovering and trilling loudly before diving almost vertically back to the ground. No other bird has been celebrated more in English writing. Skylarks are a constant on my daily walks, from late February through to the end of summer. This painting is a celebration of their wild presence in our lives.
