Rising Dolphins

Rising Dolphins was completed in summer 2024, a time when dolphins are regularly seen off the coast of Wales, breaching next to boats. There is a large colony resident in Cardigan Bay, which I have seen often, and this piece is dedicated to them.

“My artworks are a response to the movement of the wild, the endless transitions, the appearances and disappearances of forms, the half seen and half lit.  Ancient Chinese poets believed that the world, the ten thousand things, appeared out of nothing, danced for a while, then returned to where they came from, to emerge later in other forms. It is the perfect way to think about nature, and about art.”
