Diving Otters

Otters are a regular sighting near my studio in Rhayader where the River Wye rushes over waterfalls through the town. A little further downriver the Wye meets the river Elan, and deep pools are formed, where the otters like to play.

“My artworks are a response to the movement of the wild, the endless transitions, the appearances and disappearances of forms, the half seen and half lit.  Ancient Chinese poets believed that the world, the ten thousand things, appeared out of nothing, danced for a while, then returned to where they came from, to emerge later in other forms. It is the perfect way to think about nature, and about art.”
