Running Deer

Roe Deer have moved into the woods above my house. It is autumn and the days are shorter, the woods filled with mist. Seeing the deer run across my path as I walk is a magical spectacle.

“My artworks are a response to the movement of the wild, the endless transitions, the appearances and disappearances of forms, the half seen and half lit.  Ancient Chinese poets believed that the world, the ten thousand things, appeared out of nothing, danced for a while, then returned to where they came from, to emerge later in other forms. It is the perfect way to think about nature, and about art.”
