Soaring Red Kite

My studio in the Cambrian Mountains of Wales is a centre for Red Kites and I often look out of my window to see up to 30 of them circling overhead. This piece is inspired by those sightings.

“My artworks are a response to the movement of the wild, the endless transitions, the appearances and disappearances of forms, the half seen and half lit.  Ancient Chinese poets believed that the world, the ten thousand things, appeared out of nothing, danced for a while, then returned to where they came from, to emerge later in other forms. It is the perfect way to think about nature, and about art.”
