Workshops

Courting the Wild

Hosted at River Wood Studio

26th April, 10.30am until 4.30pm

A full day workshop to explore ways to connect to nature through creative practice.

You’ll be visiting a special place besides the River Wye to journal and sketch. We’ll return to the studio to work on ideas which spring from time spent with ancient trees and the wild river. You’ll get the chance to experiment with ink on paper, a technique which builds a sense of mindful flow (no experience needed) and helps to open up creative connections. Writing can then be developed into a poem or short piece of narrative prose, or you can use the studio to work on a drawing or painting. At the end of the day we’ll share work and ideas for further practice at home.

This is an opportunity to experience a wild place as a creative group and to inspire each other.

The workshop will be hosted in Rhayader, Wales. River Wood studio is one of the oldest buildings in the area, with timber frames, stone floors and cast iron fireplaces. The river is a short walk from the studio, with easy access.

Limited to a maximum of 8 people.

Unfortunately, due to the age of the building and its narrow stairs the space is not suitable for people with mobility issues.

Price: £95

Includes a light, vegetarian lunch, tea and coffee.
